octem nostram illúmina, ætérne omnípotens Deus, éffice nos fámulos tuos obdormíre quiétibus, et virtútibus Sanctórum excitáre; ut ab omni inquietúdine tenebrárum, te auxiliánte, ad diem clarum perveníre mereámur.

Monday

I

lluminate our night, O eternal Almighty God, grant that we, your servants, may rest in peace and be awakened by the virtues of the Saints; so that with your assistance, we may be worthy to overcome all the disturbances of darkness and attain to the bright day.

Tértia

D

eus, lumen ætérnum, splendor síderum, cláritas nóctium, illuminátio incomprehénsa tenebrárum da nobis hanc noctem secúram, tranquíllam, ac quiétam; et siqua hódie peccáta contráximus, tu pius, et miséricors indúlge propítius: preces quoque famulórum libénter exáudi, et postuláta concéde.

Tuesday

O

God, eternal light, splendor of the stars, brightness of the night, incomprehensible illumination of darkness, grant us this night secure, tranquil, and peaceful; and if we have committed any sins today, in your mercy and kindness, graciously forgive us. Hear willingly the prayers of your servants and grant their requests.

Quarta

S

iqua, Dómine, in die peccáta contráximus ópere, sermóne, et cogitatióne: tu dimítte: et hanc nobis noctem tranquíllam, pacíficam, ac sine peccáto concédere dignéris.

Wednesday

O

Lord, if we have incurred any sins throughout the day in our deeds, words, or thoughts, forgive us. Grant us this night to be tranquil, peaceful, and free from sin.

Quinta

C

Thursday

G

uard, O Lord, our souls, and deliver us from the hand of the tempter. Keep far from us the nocturnal thief and repel the snares of his deceitfulness. For he appears in various forms during the night, seeking to deceive the sleeping, whom he cannot overcome when they are vigilant. But you, O Lord, as a good shepherd and most merciful guide, do not abandon your flock. You have laid down your life for the sheep, and those whom you have redeemed with your precious blood, save us.

Sexta

C

ustódi nos quiescéntes in hac nocte, et velóciter exaudíre dignéris, quas coram te fúndimus preces; et ut in ténebris non timeámus inimícum tentatórem, circumválla nos fortitúdinis Cruce.

Álius

C

ustódi nos, Dómine, sicut exaudíre, et custodíre dignátus fuísti sanctum Daniélem orántem in lacu leónum, et non tetigérunt illum béstiæ; quia fortíssima eum tua tegébat déxtera: feræ feróces ante eum se solvébant, et odorántes fugiébant: Fúlgeat in nobis, Dómine, tuus Christus; et fúgiat a córdibus, et a cubílibus nostris pérfidus inimícus.

Friday

G

uard us as we rest in this night, and graciously deign to quickly hear the prayers we pour out before you. And so that we may not fear the enemy tempter in the darkness, surround us with the strength of the Cross.

Another

G

uard us, O Lord, as you were pleased to hear and protect the holy Daniel while he prayed in the lion's den, and the beasts did not touch him; for your mighty right hand shielded him. Fierce beasts cowered before him and fled in fear. May your Christ shine upon us, O Lord, and may the treacherous enemy flee from our hearts and from our beds.

Saturday

R

emove from us, O Lord, the stumbling block of the night, so that we may not fear to walk in the midst of the shadow of death. May your rod and staff hold us, the rod of Jesse through Blessed Mary. May He lead us to the morning watch, who has taught us to pray and say:
