And he overcame the disturbance, not by strength of body nor with force of arms, but with a word he subdued him that punished them, alleging the oaths and covenant made with the fathers. ighteous Lord, from whom justice is justly granted to the righteous, those who desire to live justly through You, grant that they may show the justice they hold in their minds in their deeds. For we rightly recognize Your holy Apostle James as justly called by all. He confuted the wickedness of the ungodly with his righteous words when they, with the cunning of their wickedness, called him both just and sought to teach injustice. Therefore, they placed him in a high position to ensure that his preaching would resound far and wide. Those who do not want to accept the truth when it is spoken, but immediately reject and persecute him, thus endowing him with glory through suffering. Make us, through his merits, hold justice in our minds and gladly proclaim it, so that as he, through the work of justice, was justified and reached You through the glory of martyrdom, we may, through his intercession and our worthy penance, merit to obtain forgiveness.
