hrist, Son of God, born of a woman, made under the law to confirm the promises made to the Fathers, became the minister of circumcision. Thus, being promised by the law, you became the fulfillment of the law in time, consecrating the ministry of the eighth day in your glorious flesh. You received the old seal of circumcision, and the name announced by the Angel was given to you. Grant to us, though unworthy, that as we receive these mysteries of your Incarnation with full faith, we may love you with a fuller affection of our hearts. Just as in you, too, according to the law of the Lord, all the mysteries of our salvation are perfected, may we believe, love, and fulfill the efficacy of works in such a way that we may remain unharmed during this pilgrimage and, after passing through it, may merit to reach you in happiness.
